Wine Making and Beer Brewing

Mmm… That’s good!Wine and beer are two things that everyone in the world enjoys. They do not always enjoy both, but people enjoy one or the other. Wine and beer go through two very specific processes to become the delicious drinks that we all know and love. If it were not for the people who so carefully and patiently make them, we would not have them! Here is a little bit of fact about the process of making wine and brewing beer that you may not know. How is it made?Winemaking is also known as vinification. This is the process of making wine, which starts with the grape choosing and ends with a great glass of chilled wine in your hand. People who make and bottle the wine are referred to as vintners. They usually work for a specific winery or wine company. There are two types of wine. One is a sparkling wine. These are usually the choices of the new wine drinkers because they are not used to the taste and rawness of the other kind of wine. The second type of wine is called a still wine. This is more flat, but you can taste more of the mixed tastes. The whole science of winemaking actually has a name. It is called oenology. The first step to making a great wine is fermenting the chosen grapes for your wine. There are two different types of made wine. There is a red wine that is made from the pulp of the grapes and a white wine made from fermenting the juices of the grapes. This is then added to yeast for a period of time to let the tastes mature. Then the wine is let sit until it is good to drink. The sitting stage can take anywhere from a couple of months to up to twenty years. But this is what is required for a good quality wine.Beer is one of America’s favorite drinks. It is so great to be able to sit out in the park or at a game and drink a nice cold cup or bottle of beer. It really does feel like the world slows down for a bit. Beer however is not just and American this and in fact many of the best beer’s are not even American. The beer brewing process is quite long. The steps of beer brewing are as follows: malting, milling. mashing, lautering, boiling, three different fermenting processes, conditioning, filtering and packaging. This whole process can take quite a while.Beer is made from the starch, barley. It is put through this full process so that you are able to enjoy the full flavor of the beer. The process starts in a hot water tank. The alt goes through a couple of different stages before hitting the cooler and added to the yeast. After it has been in the yeast for a long enough it is then taken out and bottled or put in a keg. These are then sent out to the factories and sent out in mass amounts to stores all over the world. The whole process can actually take a couple years to make a great tasting beer, so the next time you have one enjoy it!Be responsibleWhen you get your hands on some wine or beer remember this process. Appreciate the art of how it was made and the amount of time it took to make it. Also, be responsible while drinking. Do not drink and then go out for a drive. Also do not drink so much in public that you end up doing something embarrassing. You also do not want to drink to big of an amount and risk throwing up, or even worse getting alcohol poisoning which can land you in a world of hurt and in the hospital.
