Choose a sales position that suits you
A career in sales is one of the most flexible jobs a person could have. If you find that you like to make things sound great, or that you have great skills in making people believe what you say, then a career in sales is for you.
Selling what you have indoors or outdoors
If you are selling for a company chances are that they will have a set up office where you will work out of. If you have a degree in sales you will be set up in an office making calls and meeting people. You will be a sort of consultant, where you will meet with people to explain to them just how fascinating a certain product is. Usually a career in sales will see you working with a specific product – if you work for a small company.
Indoor sales can also be working at your local furniture store, where you will be in charge of a portion of the floor, say the electronics goods. You will then get paid according to commissions. What you sell determines the amount of money you earn, which means that you have to be really good at selling things.
Outdoor sales are a bit different. This type of salesmen can also be called an affiliate marketer. You will go around to people houses, sort of door to door. However, this does not need to be your approach. We all know how much people dislike door to door salesman. What you could do is set up a sort of selling area. Where you will invite people to take a look at what you have.
An outdoor salesman does not need to work for just on company. In fact the more companies this person works for, the more money he or she earns. This is because he or she will have more products to sell, meaning that there are more people to interest. It is not s specialist field, because they will have so many different products. This is why it differs so much to the indoor type of selling, where the salesperson will have one or two products to sell and make a living off of.
What to know about selling
If you find that you have a talent for making people believe you, then you need to be a salesperson. You have to remember though, that some training is needed. Taking a course in sales will greatly benefits you sales skills.
