If you are looking for a higher paying job in the career of your passion, but you either did not graduate or go to college, this is the first step you must take. Companies are becoming more and more firm about hiring people that have the right experience and knowledge for the job they are applying to. They do not want to have to train someone from the bottom, they want them to be able to jump right in and start working. This not a shameful thing, however, it is mature that you are taking the steps to better yourself for you and your family. The first step to this is to find a GED program or community college close to you. After you apply you must attend and get great grades to graduate with the promise of success. If you slack off you are going to get nowhere. One ting to look for, if you are a parent with young children, is that you want to go to a school that has a nursery area or daycare. Having to pay for babysitters all the time can be expensive and the whole point of this is to make more money in the long run. When you graduate from that school you may then start to look for the job that you have always wanted but were not qualified for until now. There are a couple of ways to look for a job. You can try looking online. There are a few sites like craigslist that have job openings lists that you can look through. There is a great deal of sections to choose from these lists. You can also go to many job search engines such as Monster.com and careerbuilder.com to type in specific search criteria that should pull up a few jobs that match what you are looking for. If you find something on there that you like apply with your resume and cover letter. Be smart about what you apply to. Always be wary of scams too. They can get you in a world of hurt in the long run. When a job contacts you back asking you to go in for an interview politely accept, find out the information and then hang up the phone. It is at that moment that you can jump up and down in joy. Dress for success in any interview you go into. Make sure they know you mean business. No cleavage shirts or short skirts. Also no jeans and tennis shoes. Be professional and respectful. Always give a nice firm handshake when you walk into your potentially new bosses office. Giving a good impression is always the best thing. Always say thank you before you leave followed by another handshake and walk out. You should hear back soon as to whether you got the job or not. Some people get asked to join right there.Do not panicIf the job hunting is going slow do not panic, just keep eyes peeled for anything that applies to you. At first you may not get your dream job. Most everyone has to work up to that level and when you get there you will be even more proud of yourself!
