Our body’s functionalityImagine a life where for breakfast you eat a stack of pancakes and chocolate milk. For lunch you have something from the drive thru. Perhaps a bacon cheese burger with fries or onion rings and a chocolate shake. Dinner brings you a big lasagna plate with deliciously warm crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside garlic toast AND a simple side salad. This is all followed by a large desert consisting of chocolate ice cream and tiny peanut butter cups. This sounds pretty great right. You are drooling and your taste buds are doing a tiny jig. I know! But what do you feel like the day after?The basic factsThe day after you eat those incredibly delicious and extremely unhealthy meals, you are going to feel like a walking blob. You probably will not have an easy time sleeping and this will then make you cranky and irritable. You will also feel gross and probably physically ill. This is how many people choose to eat day after say. Could you imagine the side effects this has on their health. Heart attacks, strokes and maybe even death are the few that come to mind. This is where nutrition comes into play. If you are living a nutritious life, then you should have no problems.Nutrition is basically the materials that are necessary to support life. In this case our nutrition will support your life. Having a healthy diet will help you get the nutritious values you need for your body. The first step to getting this nutrition is to know what to look for. When you buy a food product from the grocery store, there is quite often a label on the back simply called the nutrition facts. This label will give you a clue as to what you eating is in fact healthy for you, or if you should put it don immediately.The second step to building your nutrition is to know how to read this nutrition label. Six big classes of nutrients to look out for are carbohydrates (otherwise known as carbs) which include the starches and sugars of the group. This is also the part that most people tend to avoid as to not gain weight. Fats are another group of nutrients. There is something called an essential fatty acid. This is exactly as it sounds. These are fats like omega 3’s and omega 6’s that are necessary in your everyday diet for your body to function properly. Vitamins and minerals are another huge group of nutrients to make sure to get every day. These are the things that make your body grown and stay strong. These also regulate all your systems so you have no problems.Protein is known to make a person strong. This is often found in foods like chicken. It is recommended to have protein every day to build a strong body and a strong mind. The final key to nutritious eating is water. 6-8 glasses daily is the recommended amount of water to drink during your life time. Water not only makes up a good 75% of the human body, it actually has a purpose. Water hydrates us so that we can keep going. It also cleans out bad things from your body. Just so you know though, about 20% of all water intake comes from the food you eat.Do not waste timeDo not waste time eating in an unhealthy manner. Creating a healthy diet with a few prizes and treats here and there is the best way to go. If you want to live a long and healthy lifetime definitely make sure you know all about your nutrients and what they do for you.
