Where the bacon is earnedAn office is generally considered the room in which people get business done in order to earn money. Most companies have a local office, meaning that it is close to where you live and you commute there to work. It may just be considered home base for you and you may not use it all the time if this is a business that is out of the field a lot. In this case it is a glorified storage space. Some people love going to the office and some people hate it. There is always a way to make you job and your office a more enjoyable place to be. Offices now however are much more fun that say about twenty years ago. They used to be boring and gross, but now they come in all shaped, sizes and in all types of cities.How to spice up the work lifeFor anyone who has seen the movie ‘Office Space’ and has said “this is just like my office” there is hope for you yet. Even with the annoying boss still there riding you or the crazy coworker and his stapler obsession you can make going to the office better with every day. One of the ways to do that is to de-clutter your desk. By taking all the unnecessary papers and trash off and making an organization process that works for you, this can easily reduce stress and take a little of the pressure off your back.One way to enjoy the office better is to arrive right on time and leave when you are supposed to leave. When you are spending too much time in the office you start to feel animosity toward it therefore making you work life hell. The every once in a while late night is ok, but not being home for dinner or giving yourself time to have a personal life can be a crucial key to your unhappiness. Staying at home all the time is not the best way to love work either. Try to hang out with some of your coworkers sometime. Go out for a beer or go see a movie with a few of them.That leads to building a bond with a few select employees. Sometime’s this can be a weird and even scary idea. Especially if you are newer to the office you are working at. But getting to know and hang out with a couple of your fellow employees from time to time can make the office feel a little more relaxed when you are there. Knowing at any moment you could share a laugh or a story with one of them at the water cooler can actually really make someone’s day.If you tend to get your projects done on time and to your bosses exact qualifications, then there leaves no room for tension on that end. This does not mean that you need to be a suck up like Dwight’s character on the show ‘The Office’. You do not have to clean your boss’s office or cater to their every whim. You are paid to be there and do your work. Now, if your boss is asking you to do too much, maybe approach them and express to them in the most polite way that the workload they have given you is not manageable on your end. They should understand, but if they do not, this a sign of a boss that is not that great at their job.The right fitMaking sure that any job you go into or are hired to do is something you In fact want to do is a great thing. People are not going to do their very best with something that they are not 100% on board for. Having passion and drive with something can really help in the day to day office life.
